Congratulations to Dr. Xiaoyu Shi for receiving a $400,000 grant from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative.

Congratulations to Dr. Xiaoyu Shi from the Department of Developmental and Cell Biology for receiving a $400,000 grant from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative’s Advancing Imaging Through Collaborative Projects program.

Dr. Shi and her Co-PIs received the Advancing Imaging Through Collaborative Projects grant sponsored by Chan Zuckerberg Initiative for their project “Disseminating Chemical-based Super-resolution Microscopy”.

They are 1 of the 14 winning teams across the world. The team consists of Prof. Shi is as the Coordinating PI, and her Co-PIs Prof. Leonel Malacrida (Pasteur Institute of Montevideo), Prof. Tatsuo Fukagawa (Osaka University), and Prof. Elizabeth Head (UCI).

The team will disseminate the Label-Retention Expansion Microscopy method, which was developed in Shi Lab to the scientific community and build scientific capacity in Latin America and Africa.
