Assistant Professor of Teaching Adrienne Williams has published an article in Neuroscience Letters entitled “Seven practical strategies to add active learning to a science lecture” with Professor Diane O’Dowd. This is a mini-review of evidence-based teaching that can be utilized by instructors of large STEM classes, regardless of how much time they have available to modify their course. The authors hope making these changes doable and rewarding will help decrease the opportunity gap often seen in students from marginalized groups.
