Congratulations to Dr. Pablo Lara-Gonzalez and his lab on being awarded the NIH MIRA R35 grant to study how the cell division machinery is regulated during development.

The grant aims to address how cells integrate diverse inputs to execute the decision to enter and exit cell cycle quiescence, as well as to couple the cell cycle to cell fate determination during development.

The proposed work has the potential to help develop strategies to prevent and/or treat diseases originating from cell proliferation defects such as cancer, as well as developmental abnormalities and aging-related disorders.
