“Investigating the potential of a synthetic sphingolipid molecule called 893 to treat prostate cancer. Focus on determining whether cancer cells can adapt to the 893 compound, and if so, what changes occur within the cells that contribute to their decreased sensitivity to the compound.”

Natalia Libby
nlibby1@uci.edu
Eom Lab

Natalia is broadly interested in intercellular communication in the early vertebrate. She will join the Dae-Seok laboratory in the fall to investigate the mechanisms behind long-range, cell-to-cell communication in the zebrafish skin, particularly those mediated by airinemes, filopodia-like projections possessing a membrane-bound vesicle at their tips.
