Congratulations to Professor Adrienne Williams for being selected as a Fellow of the UCI Faculty Academy for Teaching Excellence

Congratulations to Assistant Professor of Teaching Adrienne Williams who was selected as a Fellow of the UCI Faculty Academy for Teaching Excellence. Fellows of the Academy were chosen for their strong commitment to student success and their superb record as an educator.

Professor Williams will be supported by the Office of the Vice Provost of Teaching and Learning, to contribute to provide her expertise and develop campus resources on alternative assessment options beyond high-stakes exams. They are also exploring how assessments can provide instructors and students with evidence of learning in ways that are not easily generated by AI chatbots.

Along with Professor Williams in Developmental and Cell Biology, four other faculty in the School of Biological Sciences were chosen as fellows of the Academy. Prof. Williams is joined by Professor of Teaching Catherine Loudon, Professor Celia Jaiola in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Associate Professor of Teaching Pavan Kadandale in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, as well as Prof. Claudia Benavente, a joint faculty member in Developmental and Cell Biology.
